Hello and Welcome! We are excited to be part of this community and help people feel right at home. Sabrina grew up in the Comox Valley and Mario grew up in the Kootenays. We met in Victoria and decided to buy our first home and move to Cumberland in 2010. Sabrina is a special education teacher and Mario is a cabinetmaker and works for the United Riders of Cumberland (UROC) as one of the Trail Maintenance Crew. We both enjoy the outdoors and live an active lifestyle.
We love our community, we love raising our kids here, so we are committed to protecting our community through ensuring we are working towards the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set out by the United Nations. We are currently focused in three areas – reducing our carbon foot print through upgrades and capital investments (such as new windows, and more efficient energy systems); Buying local – we want to support our local community and they make some pretty amazing products! ; and we continue to explore and adopt more sustainable practices to help protect our environment and are supporters of the Cumberland Community Forest.
We feel that Cumberland is a fantastic place to visit and play and are excited for you to enjoy some time here. We hope to provide our guests with the best experience possible. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us or Lauren before or after booking with us, we are happy to answer any of your questions. We would love to welcome you to our Guesthouse!
