COVID-19 Safety Plan
COVID-19 is spread through large liquid droplets when a person infected with COVID-19 coughs or sneezes. The virus in these droplets can enter through the eyes, nose or mouth of another person if they are in close contact with the person who coughed or sneezed.
The symptoms of COVID-19 are similar to other respiratory illnesses, including the flu and the common cold. These symptoms include cough, sneezing, fever, sore throat and difficulty breathing. People infected with COVID-19 may experience little or no symptoms, with illness ranging from mild to severe.
People who are contacts of a confirmed COVID-19 case, meaning they have been or could have been exposed to the virus, but do not have symptoms, are required to self-isolate. Self-isolation means staying home and avoiding situations where you could come in contact with others.
You must stay at home and self-quarantine for 14 days if you are sick to avoid spreading illness to others.
Practice diligent hand hygiene at all times by washing with plain soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Practice cough etiquette by coughing into your elbow or covering your mouth and nose with a disposable tissue when you sneeze. Immediately dispose of used tissues and wash your hands.
At all times you must maintain a physical distance of two metres from others.
Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands. Do not share food, drinks, and utensils with others.
Cumberland Guesthouse Safety Measures
We have set our occupancy limit to a maximum of 50 guests on the property at any one time. We are posting this limit at the entrance and are discouraging visitors that are not registered guests from entering the property. We have decreased the number of short term units that we are running to minimize the number of people coming and going.
In accordance with the BC Health Order we are collecting names and contact information of all registered guests and limiting day visitors to a maximum of 5 people visiting each suite. Visitor names and contact information will also be collected and stored for 30 days in the case that contact tracing has to be initiated.
We are displaying signs encouraging hand hygiene, respiratory etiquette, and physical distancing for staff and guests.
Hand sanitizer dispensers will be places at entrances and high contact areas
We will be running contactless check in and guests can check themselves in and out using their keypads
Staff will wear masks and a combination of gloves and/or washed and sanitized hands when inside suites
We are blocking off suites for a minimum of 24 hours in-between guests
High touch surfaces will be cleaned and sanitized regularly
We will be using professional cleaners to clean the suites and laundry will be taken off-site to be done by a professional laundry company
We have revised our check in time from 3pm to 4pm to allow wait time for cleaners to enter and to give enough time for suites to be properly cleaned and sanitized
We are requesting guests to leave windows open for aeration and to take their garbage and recycling outside prior to checking out as this will minimize contact for our cleaners
We are using single use items (coffee, tea, sugar, etc.), a single page welcome sheet and a magazine is replaced each stay.
We have provided each suite with BBQ utensils and are providing Lysol wipes for guests to wipe down before and after use
We have minimized outdoor seating and have provided suite specific outdoor furniture
Any guest or employee that has any COVID symptoms is asked to not enter the premise or to leave once symptoms are noticed and self-isolate for two weeks.
Anyone that has arrived from outside Canada must self-isolate for 14 days and monitor their symptoms
Unfortunately at this time, we will not be booking international guests that are coming from outside of Canada until further notice
